01/18/18 | Football
At the 38th Annual Morris Trophy Luncheon today in Seattle, Oregon offensive tackle Tyrell Crosby was honored as the best offensive lineman in Pac-12 Conference in 2017 and presented with the Morris Trophy, the annual award that recognizes the top lineman in the league on each side of the ball. Crosby was selected by the league's defensive linemen, who collectively vote for the top offensive lineman to honor.
Crosby is the first Duck to receive the Morris Trophy since 2015, when DeForest Buckner was honored on the defensive side of the ball.
Washington's Vita Vea was presented with the Morris Trophy today as well, as he was selected as the top defensive lineman in the league by the Pac-12's offensive linemen for 2017.
A recent graduate from Henderson, Nevada, Crosby played in 41 games for the Ducks and did not allow a sack or quarterback hit during his senior season in 2017. Crosby also was honored as an All-Pac-12 selection on the offensive line this season for the Ducks, and played a major role in Oregon's 268 rushing yards per game in 2017, a total that ranked 12th in FBS.
Crosby, who will participate in the Senior Bowl next week in Mobile, Alabama, is considered a likely early-round selection in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft.
