Ionescu Finalist for Wooden Award

EUGENE, Ore. - Sabrina Ionescu has been named one of 20 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, which is presented by the Los Angeles Athletic Club to the top playerd in men's and women's NCAA basketball.
Ionescu is the only sophomore to make the late season top-20 list for the national player of the year award which was started in 1976. A list of 15 will presented to voters prior to the NCAA Tournament.
Last year Washington's Kelsey Plum won on the women's side, while Kansas' Frank Mason III won for the men.
Ionescu currently leads the Pac-12 in both points per game (19.9) and assists per game (7.7). The guard is also 13th in the conference with 7.1 rebounds per game. Ionescu is shooting 46.9 percent from three-point range this season, good for second in the Pac-12.
