
Freeman Selected By Denver In Third Round

ARLINGTON, Texas – One of six players in college football history to rank in the top 10 all-time in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, Oregon running back Royce Freeman became the first Duck taken in the 2018 NFL Draft on Friday when he was selected in the third round with the 71st overall pick by the Denver Broncos.
Freeman is the sixth Oregon running back in program history selected in the first three rounds of the draft, joining LaMichael James (2013 – 2nd Round), Jonathan Stewart (2008 – 1st Round), Maurice Morris (2002 – 2nd Round), Reuben Droughns (2000 – 3rd Round) and Curt Mecham (1942 – 2nd Round). He is the
18th running back in program history to be selected in the NFL Draft.

Freeman finished his illustrious four-year career as one of just six players in college football history to rank in the top 10 all-time in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Freeman's 5,621 rushing yards are good for sixth all-time while his 60 TDs on the ground are 10th all-time.
OREGON RECORD HOLDER
Highlighted by a Pac-12 record 60 rushing touchdowns, Freeman leaves Oregon holding seven career records. The Imperial, Calif., native is the program's all-time leader in rushing yards, all-purpose yards (6,435), rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns (64), points scored (384), 100-yard rushing games (31) and carries (947). He also holds the Oregon single-season record with 1,836 rushing yards, which he set in 2015.

Freeman's record-breaking 5,621 career rushing yards came on the strength of a remarkable 31 100-yard rushing performances over 51 career games. During the 2015 season, Freeman finished fourth nationally a program single-season record 1,836 rushing yards thanks to 11 100-yard games, including nine straight to end the season. Over the final five games of his freshman season (2014) through his sophomore campaign, Freeman put together 14 100-yard performances in 18 games.
