Yovan earns Pac-12, Collegiate Baseball honors

Eugene, Ore. – Sophomore Kenyon Yovan has been named a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week and the Pac-12 Conference Pitcher of the Week after a dominating performance in a win over USC last Saturday.
Yovan (Beaverton, Ore. / Westview HS) fanned a career-high 15 batters while allowing no walks in a 9-2 win over the Trojans. The Ducks' right-hander gave up two runs in eight innings on just five hits in a game played in adverse conditions that included a 31-minute rain delay.
Yovan earned the Pac-12 Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for the second time this season. Since moving into the starting rotation, he is 4-1 with a 2.01 ERA in six starts. He has allowed just nine runs on 28 hits in 40.1 innings pitched while striking out 48 and walking just 10. Opposing batters are hitting .197 against him in those starts.
On the season, Yovan is 4-2 with a 2.54 ERA and five saves. He has allowed just 16 earned runs on 40 hits in 56.2 innings pitched with 75 strikeouts and 24 walks. Opponents are hitting .199 against him. His first 11 appearances were out of the bullpen.
