Walsh earns Pac-12 weekly honor

EUGENE, Ore. — After helping lead Oregon to a Pac-12 Conference series sweep at Arizona, the conference selected Oregon first baseman and designated hitter Jacob Walsh as the league's player of the week.
Walsh (Las Vegas, Nev. / Desert Oasis HS) earned the award after batting .533 (8-for-15) with three home runs, four RBI, a double and five runs scored while reaching at a .563 clip and slugging 1.200. He had three hits in each of the first two games of the series, including a career-high four hits in game one.
In the opener, Walsh had his first career multi-home run game against the Wildcats to kick off Oregon's 7-run second inning, adding a solo shot to start the scoring and capping off the rally with an RBI single. His second home run of the game in the seventh inning punctuated Oregon's 22-hit performance.
On Saturday, Walsh had his second three-hit game of the series while scoring a pair of runs in the Ducks' school-record 10-run come-from-behind 13-11 win. In the series finale, Walsh sparked the Oregon offense with a home run in the second to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead.
