Stember Named Pac-12 Golfer of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon had better leave some room in the trophy case at the new practice facility and clubhouse that is currently under construction. They're going to need it.

Nate Stember became the second Duck this season to be named Pac-12 Golfer of the Week after sharing medalist honors at the Duck Invitational March 27-28. His individual win led the Ducks to their first outright Duck Invitational title since 2017.

Stember was one of two players in the 84-man Duck Invitational field at par-or-better all three rounds (71-69-67) for a career-best 6-under 207 tournament. It was his first career victory.

He also tied for 16th out of 155 players with an even-par 210 (70-68-72) at Stanford's competitive The Goodwin Thursday through Saturday.

Stember, a senior from Portland, shared the weekly honors with Oregon State's Mateo Fuenmayor, who was the co-medalist of the Duck Invitational.

It was the first career Pac-12 honor for Stember, and the third award of the season for the Ducks, a program-best. Owen Avrit was named golfer of the week on March 21 and was the league's golfer of the month for November.

The Ducks are next in action April 10-12 at the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz, Calif.
