Football Practice Report: Aug. 21
08/21/24 | Football
The Ducks wrapped up preseason camp Wednesday, and return to the practice fields Friday.
Preseason camp wrapped up for the Oregon football team on Wednesday, when the Ducks held a morning workout on their outdoor practice fields.
The team will now have a day off from practice Thursday, before returning the field Friday to begin focused preparations for the season opener against Idaho in Autzen Stadium on Aug. 31 (4:30 p.m., Big Ten Network).

Following Wednesday's practice, head coach Dan Lanning met with local media. Video of that interview is embedded below.
Some highlights from coach Lanning …
On what he saw from his team during preseason camp: "Work. That's it. Just work, right? We know where we're headed and what we want to be; it takes work to get there."
On the tone set by the team's leadership core in preseason camp: "I think that shows up. I think our leadership shows up. Those guys that understand what it takes to be great, that's where it has to come from first. When your best players want to work the hardest, it's when you have a chance."
On whether the team achieved its goals for preseason camp: "Our goal is to improve every single day. Did we improve this fall camp? Absolutely. Are we where we want to be yet? No, definitely not. We're taking steps. There hasn't been a day where we come out here and I didn't feel like our guys wanted to work. I appreciated that."
