Hall of Fame

Charlie Warren
- Induction:
- 1992
- Class:
- 1962
Athletics were in Warren’s life from the outset. He learned the game of basketball as towel boy for his father, multi-sport coach John Warren. He also learned his dad’s tenacity. During his 1959-62 career, he established scoring marks with awesome outside shooting and also was an aggressive rebounder.
He still stands among Oregon’s all-time scoring leaders, his 22.2 average in 1961-62 has been surpassed only twice over the last 30 years. He finished his career with 1,301 points and 730 rebounds and all the post-season honors available as a senior, including all-American. Despite the talent to play professional basketball, he chose the Army and private business after his collegiate days.
