Hall of Fame

Dan Kelly
- Induction:
- 1992
- Class:
- 1907
It could be said that the history of Oregon track started with Kelly. One of the great sprinter-long jumpers of his day, he equaled the world record in the the 100 and 200-yard dashes in the same afternoon in 1906, becoming the school’s first record-holder of such magnitude.
He became Oregon’s first athlete to be spoken of as an all-America in any sport. He won the AAU national title in the long jump in 1907 and represented the U.S. at the 1908 Olympics, bringing home the silver medal in the long jump. He became only the third American to break the 24-foot barrier in the long jump.
