One of Oregon’s pioneers in women’s athletics, the 5-11 Seattle native capitalized on her speed and athleticism to
leave indelible marks on the Oregon women’s basketball and track programs. On the hardwood, she was a two-time
Northwest Basketball League first-team pick and three-time District All-American (1979-80-81), averaging 13.0
points and 7.8 rebounds in her career. Upon graduation, she was tied for the Oregon single-game scoring record
with 38 points. In the Oregon record book, the four-year starter set the school record for field goal percentage in a
single season (61.4%) while leading the Ducks each of her final three years, and also was tops in rebounds as a
sophomore (9.8 avg.). Her 1,412 career points ranks seventh all-time for the Ducks. On the track she ran on the 4x400
relay - the Ducks’ first women’s national track champion in 1980 (3:34.55) and runners-up in 1980 (3:41.76). Individually,
she ran her personal bests and school records in the 100 (11.65) and 200 (24.08) as a sophomore, with the
former standard remaining for 11 years.
