A consistently high scorer, he often scored more than the entire opposition. Known for his speed and tenacity, he became the first Oregon basketball all-America selection, also serving as the team’s captain during the 1921 season. He was a three-time all-Pacific Coast Conference selection, pacing Oregon to the 1919 league title.
He also played baseball and football at Oregon and coached the freshman basketball squad before attending Harvard Medical School, settling in Medford to establish his practice. He was elected to the Oregon Senate in 1958 and gained the U.S. House of Representatives in 1960. “Eddie’s brilliancy is . . . real basketball,” said Oregana.
