Ross Carter Sr.
- Induction:
- 1995
Tough as scrap iron, the two-way guard was so feared by rival teams in 1935 that seven of nine squads facing Oregon voted him to their all-opponent roster. he played four professional seasons after being drafted by the NFL’s Chicago Cardinals.
After his 65th birthday, when most retire, he began throwing the shot put for the first time. He became one of the top masters athletes around the globe, four times setting age-group world records. He was delighted and honored, too, to see a son, Ross, Jr., also earn football letters.
