
Lacrosse Routs St. Mary's, 19-6

EUGENE ? The University of Oregon women's lacrosse team won its second straight contest with a 19-6 win over St. Mary's, Sunday afternoon at Pape' Field.

Freshman midfielder Kate Fleming led the Ducks with four goals, and freshman Lindsay Killian and freshman midfielder Theresa Waldron added three scores. Freshman midfielder Jen May and freshman defender Cara Mead had two goals, and single scores came from freshman midfielder Carrie Bateman, freshman attacker Jana Bradley, freshman midfielder Jenny Browne, freshman attacker Erin Gaebe and freshman attacker Lindsay Pittard. Waldron and Gaebe paced the UO assist column (3), Fowler had two, and Bradley and May had one apiece.
“Overall, we started strong and finished strong,” Fleming said, “and now that we've done that in two wins, we know we can play 60 quality minutes. This team has so much confidence now. We're ready to go out on the road and keep it up.”
In goal, senior goalkeeper Louisa Dorsch started her seventh contest of the season and played the first 46 minutes and came up with five saves and allowed five goals. Freshman Allison O'Brien came in the second half to play the final 14 minutes and had two saves and allowed one goal.
For the visiting Gaels, midfielder Jackie Spence had three goals, and single goals came from midfielder Alex Oetken, attacker Lauren Riggers and attacker Jen Utley.

The Pape' Field home crowd also said farewell Sunday to two soon-to-be Duck graduates ? Drosch and redshirt junior midfielder Emma Thorborg ? and both started Sunday.
