
Long Beach State Too Much For Ducks

EUGENE, Ore. ? The University of Oregon women's tennis team was defeated 5-2, by Long Beach State University, Friday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center.
“This was a tough team and they came in here to play and just played lights out,” head coach Nils Schyllander said.
With the loss Oregon falls to 7-1, while Long Beach improves to 6-2.
The Ducks were nearly swept out of the doubles point winning only at number one as Dominika Dieskova and Ceci Olivos won their match 8-5.
The Ducks won only two singles matches on the day, but held late leads in others.
At number 4 Ceci Olivos won her match against Sandra Rocha, 6-4, 6-2. Claudia Hirt was the other Duck to come away with a win as she defeated Rachael Porsz, 7-5, 6-4.
Dieskova won her first set against Hannah Grady in convincing fashion, 6-1. In the second set Dieskova battled through blisters and was unable to get the win losing 7-6. Grady came back and stormed to victory in the third winning 6-2.
Anna Leksinska also battled through a three set match as she fell, 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) losing to Jessica Weeks.
The Ducks return to action Sunday morning at 9 a.m., when they face Denver at the Student Tennis Center.
