Ducks Eliminated at Pac-10 Championships

OJAI, Calif. - The Oregon women's tennis team was eliminated from singles play at the Pac-10 Championships on Thursday afternoon at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club. Emmanuelle Cor won her first round match 6-3, 7-5 over California's Stephany Chang but, after a pair of rain delays, fell to UCLA's Nina Pantic 6-3, 6-4 in the second round.
Cor was playing in the Invitational Singles bracket, along with Molly McDevitt and Patricia Skowronski. McDevitt fell 7-5, 6-3 to Washington State's Marina Nicolas while Skowronski dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to California's Nelly Radeva.
In the top level Championship Singles bracket, Oregon was represented by Pavlina Smatova, Julia Metzger and Trudie du Toit. Smatova lost 6-4, 6-2 to Arizona State's Hannah James while Metzger fell 7-6, 6-3 to Arizona's Natasha Marks. Du Toit was tripped up 6-4, 6-3 by Washington State Elisabeth Fournier.
