No. 22 Oregon Third, 18 holes to Play at Pac-10s

STANFORD, Calif. -- The University of Oregon remained in the hunt at the 52nd annual Pac-10 men's golf championship despite slipping to a tie for third place following the third round at Stanford Golf Course.
The No. 22 Ducks, who led after Round 1 and were second at the conclusion of Round 2, shot 360 on Saturday and now sit square with No. 2 UCLA at 20-over 1,061 through 54 holes, nine strokes behind leader USC.
Jack Paton
continued his steady play and is tops among UO's individuals at 4-over 214 after a 73 on Saturday at the par 70, 6,742-yard course. The junior from Hillsborough, Calif., is tied for 12th overall.
Oregon State's Alex Moore and USC's Martin Trainer are tied for the individual lead at 5-under 205 after both shooting 69s. Only six of the 60 golfers in the field are under par heading into the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Andrew Vijarro
is tied for 16th at 5-over, while Robbie Ziegler
and Eugene Wong
are tied for 21st at 6-over. Wong, last year's Nicklaus Award winner had his best round of the 72-hole championship, shooting even-par 70 in Round 3.
Eugene native Jack Dukeminier
stands tied for 24th at 7-over.
Oregon's No. 1 golfer Daniel Miernicki
had the team's high round, shooting 80, which dropped him from third to a tie for 28th at 8-over 218.
Host and 20th-ranked Stanford is second at 14-over 1,064, three shots behind the No. 17 Trojans. No. 19 Cal is a distant fifth at 33-over 1,083.
