
Ducks Off To Hawai'i For Spring Break Tournament

The Ducks will travel to Kapalua, Hawai'i, for the Fourth Annual Anuenue Spring Break Classic at the Bay Course in Maui from March 23-25. Hosted by Hawai'i, the tournament will consist of 54 holes featuring 16 teams from all across the country.

What: Fourth Annual Anuenue Spring Break Classic
When: Monday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25. The teams will play a total of 54 holes (18 holes each day) with each day beginning with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. (HT).
Where: The Bay Course – Kapalua, Maui. Par 72 (6,022 yards)
The Bay Course has hosted more than 20 professional tournaments – the most for any course on the islands of Hawaii. Home to PGA and LPGA Tour events, the course is ranked the No. 18 Best Public Course by Golf Magazine.
Who: Brown, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Hawai'i – Hilo, Louisville, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Southern Methodist, Texas, Texas Pan-American, UC Davis, UC Riverside and Xavier.

Scouting the Field
Entering the tournament ranked No. 27 according to Golfstat.com, the Ducks will tee off on Monday as the highest ranked team in the field. UC Davis is close behind at No. 32, Louisville will compete at No. 39 and San Jose State will have a good chance with a No. 42 ranking.
Hawai'i and Hawai'i – Hilo will naturally have the most familiarity with the course out of any team in the field, and No. 50 Texas and No. 47 Gonzaga should also contend for the title. Oregon State (No. 76) is the only other Pac-12 school in the field.
Last Time Out
The Ducks enjoyed their third-straight top-two finish a couple weeks ago at the Bay Area Intercollegiate when they finished in second place with an 858. Caroline Inglis tied for third with a 5-under 208 (69-69-70) to lead UO to their fourth-lowest tournament total in school history.
Cathleen Santoso placed sixth with a 2-under 211 (70-68-73), Cassy Isagawa tied for 15th (73-73-72) and Marcella Pranovia (who was playing as an individual) tied for 12th with a career-low 215 (73-72-70). Kelsey Ulep (73-73-77 = 223) and Cali Hipp (74-71-78 = 223) both tied for 28th.
Oregon led the field in pars with 177, and they were third in birdies with 38. No. 1 Washington won the tournament with an 834.
History at Anuenue Spring Break Classic
The Ducks have competed in two previous Anuenue Spring Break Classics, with their top finish coming in 2013 (5th – 886). Isagawa recorded the best individual finish for the Ducks, tying for 12th with a 216 (73-73-70) that same year.
Elite Run
With a team round average of 293.7, the Ducks are on track to have the lowest average in school history. Last year the program set the record with a 298.61.
The Ducks have gradually climbed the rankings since the beginning of the spring season. Starting at No. 36 on February 5, Oregon moved to No. 35 on February 18, then checked in at No. 31 on March 6 and now they find themselves at No. 27.
Stellar on Par 3's
Santoso and Ulep are in the top-six in NCAA Division I in par-3 scoring average. Santoso is fourth with a 2.96 and Ulep is sixth at 2.97. As a team, the Ducks are second in the country with a 3.09 average.
Top 100 Players
The top ranked player on the Duck roster is Inglis with a 73.04 round average, putting her at No. 55 in the country. Santoso joins her in the top 100 at No. 78.
Homecoming for Isagawa
The senior grew up on Wailuku on the island of Maui – just 32 miles away from Kapalua. After this next tournament, she will have played in her home state in each of the four years in her college career.
