
Ducks Beat Buffs in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. – The Ducks held the Buffs to just 31.1 percent shooting and the Oregon women's basketball team defeated Colorado, 59-46, on Friday night at the Coors Events Center.
Oregon (13-5, 2-5 Pac-12) won its second straight game. Jillian Alleyne and Lexi Bando each scored 14 points to lead the Ducks while Alleyne tallied her 84th career double-double with a game-high 15 rebounds. She is just one double-double away from matching Chiney Ogwumike's Pac-12 record of 85 double-doubles.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Colorado jumped out to a 12-4 lead early as the Ducks went just 1-for-7 from the floor in the opening eight minutes. Oregon trailed, 12-7, at the end of the first quarter but rebounded in the second.
Oregon outscored Colorado, 21-10, in the second quarter and led, 28-22, at halftime. The Ducks knocked down four three-pointers in the period, including a pair from Bando. After committing seven first quarter turnovers, the Ducks had just one turnover in the second quarter.
Colorado trimmed the Oregon lead to as little as four points, at 35-31 with 3:17 left in the third quarter, but the Ducks used a 10-4 run, capped by back-to-back drives by Maite Cazorla, to end the third and take a 45-35 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Oregon continued to pull away in the fourth quarter, leading by as much as 15 before finishing with a 59-46 victory. Oregon shot 44.2 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from three-point range.
