
Ducks Set to Defend Silverado Showdown Title

In the final tune-up before the Pac-12 Championships, the Ducks head to Napa, Calif. to co-host the 3rd Annual Silverado Showdown with Colorado. The three-day event will get underway Sunday morning at 7:45 a.m. PT at the Silverado Resort North Course.
FORMAT
The teams will play 54 holes of stroke play (18 holes per day). Sunday and Monday will have teams begin teeing off the first and 10th holes at 7:45 a.m. The final round on Tuesday will have a shot gun start at 8 a.m. PT. The competing participants will play in three-somes with new pairings determined after each round. The low four individual scores will determine the team score for each round.

Oregon will be joined by 17 other teams at the tournament, which features eight teams ranked in the Top 50 by Golfstat in its March 29 rankings. Participating teams and Golfstat ranking include:

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Oregon is the defending champion of the Silverado Showdown as the Ducks edged out Oregon State by one stroke a year ago to claim the title. UO shot a 299-290-300--889 over the two-day event. Kelsey Ulep and Caroline Inglis led Oregon to the title as they tied for fifth place by shooting a 5-over 221 for the event.
In the inaugural year, the Ducks finished fifth as they shot an 886 (+22).
LAST TIME OUT
The Ducks played three days of match play at the San Diego State March Mayhem Invitational, defeating Kansas 4-1 in the final round to finish seventh out of 16 teams.
In the opening round, the eighth-seeded Ducks faced off with No. 9 seed Colorad. The Buffs grabbed the first point of the match as Alexis Keating won 4&2 over Marcella Pranovia, but Oregon logged the next three points to clinch the match. Kathleen Scavo notched a dominating 5&4 victory over Natalie Vivaldi while Cathleen Santoso won 3&2 over Gillian Vance. Caroline Inglis clinched the match as she won 3&2 over Esther Lee. In the final match, Colorado's Brittany Fan was 2 Up on Petra Salko when the match was ended due to UO already clinching the win.
The win moved UO on in the championship side of the bracket where they took on top-seeded USC in the second round of the day. The Trojans went up 2-0 early on in the match as Karen Chung won 4&3 over Pranovia and Robynn Ree won 5&3 over Salko.
Santoso cut the deficit to 2-1 as she sunk a birdie on the 18th hole to win 1 Up on Amy Lee. Scavo then tied the match up as she defeated Gabrielle Then 3&1. A bogey by Then on the 17th hole put Scavo 3 up and ended the match with one hole to play. The final point came down to Inglis and Victoria Morgan. Inglis was 1 up going into the 18th hole, but Morgan was able to fire a birdie while Inglis made par, ending the match at all square. The Trojans were awarded the victory as they recorded wins on nine holes to the Ducks' four.
In the third round, UO was not as sharp, falling 4-1 to No. 13 Arizona State. Santoso picked up the only UO point as she won 4&3 over Monica Vaughn. Oregon then bounced back to defeat Kansas 4-1 in the final round to secure seventh place.
Pranovia locked up the first point of the match with a 3&1 victory over Victoria Chandra. The second point came from Santoso as she won 4&2 over Pomvipa Sakdee. The junior was down until she won the 12th hole by making par, bringing the match to all square. From there, she won the next four holes which including sinking a birdie on the par-4 15th hole to go 3 up. She then made par on the 16th to clinch the victory with two holes unplayed.
Scavo scored the third point as she won 5&4 over Lizzie Winyarat for the largest victory of the day. Scavo was the epitome of consistency on the front nine, making par on each hole to be 1 up as they made the turn. On the back nine, the freshman won the 11th and 12th holes by sinking back-to-back birdies to go 4 up and then she clinched the 5&4 win by making par on the 14th hole.
The final Oregon point came from Inglis who won 3&2 over Ariadna Fonseca. Inglis won four holes putting her 4 up as they made the turn. On the back nine, the senior conceded two holes but then won the 14th hole to regain the 3 up lead. The two were all square on the next two holes giving Inglis the win with two holes unplayed. The Jayhawks picked up their only point of the day when Yupaporn Kawinpakom was 3 up on Salko through 15 holes when the match was called.
