
Ducks Off to Pac-12 Championships in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. - The No. 8 University of Oregon men's golf team is set to compete at the 58th annual Pac-12 Championships at the Boulder Country Club April 28-30.
The championship will consists of 72 holes on the 7,002-yard course. The par is set at 70.
The Ducks are paired with Colorado and UCLA, and will tee off at 8:36 a.m. PT for the first round on Friday and Saturday, and 1:51 p.m. for the second round from the first tee.
Sunday's tee times will begin at 8 a.m. off hole No. 1 and No. 10. Pairings will be determined by Saturday's finish.
The top-five scores from the teams during each 18-hole round will constitute the scoring members of the six-member teams. The lowest total combined for all rounds will determine the team champions.

Three of the nation's top ten teams hail from the Pac-12: No. 1 USC, No. 5 Stanford, and No. 8 Oregon. In addition, six of the nation's top ten are members of the Conference of Champions: No. 1 Wyndham Clark (Oregon), No. 4 Collin Morikawa (California), No. 6 Maverick McNealy (Stanford), No. 7 Jared du Toit (Arizona State), No. 9 Norman Xiong (Oregon), and No. 10 Sean Crocker (USC).
"There is always a sense of excitement heading into a big event like this," said head coach Casey Martin. "We have been doing the best we can with some of our weather challenges to be prepared. I expect us to rise to the occasion and play well."
Season at a Glance: This season, the Ducks finished fourth or better in nine of the 10 tournaments, including first-place finishes at the Arizona Intercollegiate, Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, Bandon Dunes Championship, and the Oregon Duck Invitational. Clark has finished in the top two in five events, has an average of 69.54, and shot a 70 or better in 20 of 28 rounds. In his freshman season, Norman Xiong finished within the top-10 five times and has the best scoring average among all D1 freshmen.
Ben Hogan Award: Five of the ten semifinalists for the prestigious Ben Hogan Award represent the Pac-12: Wyndham Clark (Oregon), Jared du Toit (Arizona State), Collin Morikawa (California), Sean Crocker (USC), and Maverick McNealy (Stanford).
Palmer Cup: Four Pac-12 golfers earned spots on the American team of the annual Ryder Cup-style Palmer Cup: Norman Xiong (Oregon), Collin Morikawa (California), Sean Crocker (USC), and Maverick McNealy (Stanford).
NCAA Regionals: The NCAA men's golf committee will select 45 individuals and 81 teams including 28 automatic qualifiers and 53 at-large teams. On Thursday, May 4 the selections will be announces on the Golf Channel at 9:00 a.m. PT.

2017 NCAA Championships: Northern Illinois will host the 2017 NCAA Championships at the Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. from May 26-31. The 30 teams and six individuals will compete in 54 holes of stroke play. The Pac-12 has claimed 15 NCAA team titles, while 15 different Pac-12 golfers has claimed 18 medalist honors.
