Ducks Roll at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – The Ducks used a big first quarter to take an early lead and never looked back as the No. 3 ranked Oregon women's basketball team defeated Utah State, 88-58, on Wednesday night at the Smith Spectrum.
The Ducks (3-0) have started a season with three straight wins for a fourth consecutive year.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ducks shot a blistering 75 percent in the first quarter on 9-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Sabrina Ionescu hit all three of her three-pointers in the quarter as the Ducks owned a 30-16 lead at the end of the first.
Oregon continued to pull away in the second quarter. The Ducks led Utah State, 49-29, at halftime, while shooting 63 percent from the floor and 53.8 percent from three-point range. Ionescu and freshman Taylor Chavez each had nine points at the break while Erin Boley and Ruthy Hebard had eight.
The Ducks outscored Utah State, 20-15, in the third quarter and again by five in the fourth, 19-14. Hebard has 12 second half points as the Ducks fed her inside.
BOX SCORE: Hebard had a team-high 20 points. She was a perfect 10-for-10 performance at the free throw line, tied for the fourth-best in UO single-season history. Ionescu posted her second-straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds after tallying a triple-double in the season-opener at Alaska-Fairbanks. Boley was 6-for-9 shooting for 14 points while Chavez had 13 points off the bench. Satou Sabally was also in double figures with 12 points.
UP NEXT: Oregon is back in Eugene this weekend. The Ducks host Buffalo at 2 PM on Sunday. The Bulls advanced to the Sweet 16 in last season's NCAA Tournament.
