Ejore Named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – After defending her home turf with a victory in Oregon cross country's season opener, senior Susan Ejore has been named the NCAA Division I women's cross country athlete of the week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Surprisingly, Ejore is the first national cross country athlete of the week in the storied history of Oregon women's cross country.
A native of Nakuru, Kenya, Ejore dominated the women's 5,000-meter race with a winning time of 16:09.54, well ahead of teammate Amanda Gehrich's second place time of 16:39.43.
Ejore and the Ducks will compete next in the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Sept. 21 at Springfield Country Club.
