Ionescu Named to Wooden Award National Ballot

LAS VEGAS - Oregon women's basketball guard Sabrina Ionescu has made the latest cut for the John R. Wooden Award for national player of the year, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Saturday.
Ionescu led the Ducks to a Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinals win over Arizona yesterday with 18 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists, which matched the Pac-12 Tournament record she set last season. Oregon meets UCLA today at 6 PM in the semifinals.

The Wooden Award All-American Team, consisting of the nation's top five players and the finalists for the Wooden Award will be announced on April 3 following the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament and will be the focus of a 30-minute show on ESPNU at 3:30 PM PT. Ionescu was one of five Wooden All-Americans last season. Last year's Wooden Award was presented to South Carolina forward A'ja Wilson.
The ACC, Pac-12, and SEC lead all conferences with three selections each, followed by the American, Big 12, and Big Ten with two players apiece.
