
Ducks in Fourth After First Round of Pac-12 Championships

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. - The Oregon women's golf team is in fourth place after the first round of the 2019 Pac-12 Championships at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The No. 21 ranked Ducks sit between No. 7 Arizona in third and No. 15 ASU and No. 13 UCLA tied for fifth. Oregon shot an 8-over 292 on Monday to open the tournament. No. 1 ranked USC is in the lead as the host Trojans are 1-under as a team.
Individually, the trio of Kathleen Scavo, Petra Salko and Alexis Phadungmartvorakul are all in the top-15.
Scavo was tied for first after a 3-under front nine but the senior tallied a 3-over back nine to finish her opening round at even par 71. She's tied for sixth going into tomorrow's second of three rounds.
Salko and Phadungmartvorakul are tied for 14th, both shooting a 2-over 73. Salko birdied the 18th hole to move up the standings while Phadungmartvorakul used an even par back nine, with three birdies and three bogeys, to steady her score after a 2-over front nine.
Amy Matsuoka is in 25th after shooting a 4-over 75 while freshman Tze-Han Lin is in 46th after a 9-over 80.
