Ducks Hit Arizona Leg of Pac-12 Schedule

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 42 University of Oregon men's tennis team will look to snap its two-match skid with the Arizona leg of its Pac-12 schedule. The Ducks' weekend begins Friday at 5 p.m. against Arizona State at the Whiteman Tennis Center. Oregon is 13-3 overall with a 1-1 mark in conference play.

In their last outing, the Ducks dropped a 4-2 decision to Utah in Eugene. Freshman Joshua Charlton won at the No. 4 spot in the lineup to remain undefeated (14-0) in dual matches. Oregon's first point came in a straight-set win by sophomore Riki Oshima who enters the Arizona State match having won nine of 10 including seven in a row.
 
Senior Thomas Laurent continues his residence among the nation's top-10 players, checking in at No. 8 in the April 2 release of the player poll. Laurent is 21-3 this season and has won 11-consecutive matches. Now the program's all-time wins leader, he owns a 96-23 (.807) career record in singles play.
 
Arizona State (9-10, 1-2 Pac-12) enters the weekend as the No. 32 team in the country. The Sun Devils have a ranked player in No. 71 Nathan Ponwith and two ranked doubles teams including ninth-ranked Ponwith and Dominic Kellovsky.
 
Sunday's opponent, Arizona (14-4, 0-3 Pac-12), is No. 29 in the country with one ranked player in Filip Malbasic (No. 121) and a ranked double in Igor Karpovets and Jonas Ziverts (No. 69).
 
Oregon will play its next four matches on the road before returning to its home courts April 19 and 20 for its regular-season finale.
