Ducks Defeat EWU To Win Third Straight

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team defeated Eastern Washington 7-0 Friday evening at the Student Tennis Center.

The Eagles came to Eugene with only four players available to play. That gave Oregon two points in singles play and an early advantage in doubles action.

The Ducks clinched the doubles point quickly. Oregon's No. 1 doubles team of Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral won 6-0 and the No. 2 doubles team of Allison Mulville and Karin Young dispatched the Eagles 6-0 as well.

Young clinched the win with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Luescher won next at No. 1 singles, picking up a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Ares Teixido Garcia locked up Oregon's sixth win at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-3), leaving Martinez Moral to lock up the 7-0 victory. Â
