Ducks Make More History As Entire Lineup Earns All-Pac-12 Honors
04/21/22 | Women's Golf
EUGENE, Ore. – Fresh off winning the first Pac-12 championship in program history on Wednesday at Eugene Country Club, the Oregon women's golf team has made more history as its entire five-player starting lineup has received all-conference accolades.
Sophomore Hsin-Yu (Cynthia) Lu – the second individual conference champion in program history after shooting 6 under throughout the tournament – is an all-Pac-12 first-team selection for the second year in a row. She becomes the first Oregon player ever to earn first-team all-conference honors in back-to-back years.
Lu is joined on the first team by senior Tze-Han (Heather) Lin and junior Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen. Both Ducks are all-Pac-12 selections for the first time in their careers. Lin tied for seventh overall at the Pac-12 Championships, matching Lu in the final round with an even-par 72 to help seal the team win.
Juniors Briana Chacon and Ching-Tzu Chen were among the eight players to receive all-Pac-12 honorable mention recognition. Chacon was a first-team selection as a sophomore last season, while Chen earned her first career conference honor.
Oregon's three first-team all-Pac-12 selections are tied with Stanford for the most in the league, with the two top-ranked teams in the nation making up half of the 12-player squad. Three first-team selections is also a new program record, a year after Lu and Chacon became the first UO duo to earn first-team honors in the same season.
UO's five total players earning all-conference recognition lead the league.
Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman/Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year will be determined after the NCAA Championships.
