No. 2 Ducks Ready For Regular Season Finale

EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 2 ranked Oregon women's golf team will be in Napa, Calif., this week for the final tournament of the 2021-22 regular season. With three tournament wins and eight top-five finishes in eight tournaments this season, the Ducks are looking for another strong performance before hosting the 2022 Pac-12 Championships at Eugene Country Club on April 18-20. Oregon will be the top-ranked team in the 16-team field in Napa, with four other top-15 programs also in action.

Format: Three rounds of stroke play, one round each day.

Ducks Place Second At Ping/ASU Invitational
Oregon continued its strong season last time out at the PING/ASU Invitational (March 25-27), shooting 10-under par as a team to place second in a very competitive field. The Ducks finished only behind Arizona State, which was competing on its home course, while finishing eight strokes better than No. 1 Stanford. Briana Chacon (69-72-70) led the way at 5-under par to post her best finish of the season in a tie for fifth, and Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen (72-69-69) shot 4 under to earn her fourth consecutive top-10 finish in a tie for eighth.
Five Deep On Arnold Palmer Cup Watch List
The Ducks' entire starting five was named to the latest edition of the Arnold Palmer Cup watch list, another indication of the talent and depth of Oregon's lineup. There are 50 total players on the list, 25 international players and 25 from the U.S.
Flying High at No. 2
Oregon is No. 2 in the national Golfstat rankings for the third week in a row, while also coming in at No. 2 in the WGCA and Golfweek rankings. Oregon has been in the top five on Golfstat for the entirety of the spring season after closing the fall at No. 4, and the Ducks trail only Pac-12 rival Stanford for the top spot in the nation. Prior to this season, a No. 5 ranking at the end of the 1996-97 campaign is believed to be the highest ranking in program history.

The Ducks head to Napa with an impressive history of top-five finishes under head coach Derek Radley. Oregon has placed in the top five in each of its eight tournaments so far in 2021-22, headlined by a trio of dominant wins. UO has recorded 20 top-five finishes in its last 22 tournaments dating back to the 2019-20 season, with four total wins during that stretch. Overall, the Ducks have earned 26 top-five finishes in 33 total tournaments since Radley and assistant coach Monica Vaughn took over ahead of the 2018-19 season.
