Ducks Earn No. 2 Seed At Westfield Regional
04/26/23 | Women's Golf
EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon women's golf team will make its 15th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance after earning the No. 2 seed in the Westfield Regional on Wednesday morning.
The Ducks – No. 8 in the latest Golfstat national rankings – have reached an NCAA Regional every year since 2008, excluding the 2019-20 season that was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the program's 27th all-time NCAA Regional appearance.
Hosted by Indiana, the Westfield Regional will be played at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana. Play will begin on Monday, May 8, and will run through Wednesday, May 10.
Oregon is the No. 2 seed in the 12-team field, with Mississippi State as the No. 1 seed. Vanderbilt, Iowa State and Virginia round out the top five seeds, respectively.
The Westfield Regional is one of six Regionals around the country, with the top five finishing teams from each site advancing to the 2023 NCAA Championships on May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Oregon is looking to return to Grayhawk after capping the best season in program history as the national runners-up last spring.
The Ducks enter NCAA Regionals with momentum, after finishing as the runners-up at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships last week. Oregon has one win on the season, at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in its spring opener, and the Ducks own a 10-3 competitive record in 2022-23 against teams in the Westfield Regional.
