Ducks Look To Impress At Loaded Ben Hogan Collegiate

EUGENE, Ore. – The 22nd-ranked Oregon men's golf team heads south for the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, where they will compete against 13 other top-25 teams. The two-day event at Shady Oaks Country Club tees off on Monday, Oct. 2, with live scoring provided by GolfStat.

The Ducks will be a part of a 15-team field that features 14 top-25 programs in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll, including each of the top five teams:

- Shady Oaks Country Club is set as a par 70, 6,885 yard track. 36 holes will be played on Monday followed by a final round of 18 on Tuesday.
- Oregon finished ninth at last season's Ben Hogan Collegiate, with Greg Solhaug logging a T15 finish at 1-under.
- Oregon entered the 2023 season ranked 22nd in the Bushnell/Golfweek preseason coaches poll that was released Sept. 1. The Ducks are one of four Pac-12 schools to begin the season in the top 25.
- At the 2023 Mirabel Maui Jim Invitational, the Ducks opened the season with one of the best team scores in program history. The score of 821 was the fifth-lowest 54-hole mark in school history, while the 31-under par marked the fifth-lowest 54-hole-to-par mark.
- Several Ducks put on some stellar performances in the season-opener at the Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate. Owen Avrit tied his career-best round with a bogey-free 63 (-8) in the second round, boosting himself to tie for 13th overall. Thomas Jenkins Jr. logged his best tournament as a Duck in the Maui Jim Individual, firing a 12-under 204 (69-66-69) to tie for second place. Sophomore Aiden Krafft shot under-par in each of his three rounds, finishing with a 5-under 208 to tie for 25th.
- Owen Avrit currently ranks 18th in PGA TOUR University's rankings for the class of 2024. Avrit became the eighth all-american under head coach Casey Martin and first since Norman Xiong (2018) when he claimed PING All-America Third Team honors in June 2023.
