
Peterson Returns to UO as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer

EUGENE, Ore. – University of Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens today named Lisa Peterson the Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer for Oregon Athletics.
Peterson, currently the Vice President for Olympic Competition for the Big 12 Conference, returns to Eugene, where she served as the Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator/Deputy Title IX Coordinator for 11 years from 2011-22.

"Lisa shares our unwavering commitment to providing the best possible student-athlete experience and achieving broad-based excellence, and her strong leadership skills and tremendous industry experience will play a major role in helping Oregon Athletics continue to achieve our mission."
Before her tenure at Oregon, Peterson spent nine years at the University of Kentucky from 2003-11 in the roles of Senior Associate Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator, and Chief Financial Officer, and also worked at the University of Maryland from 1997-2003 and at the University of Miami (Fla.) in the business office from 1995-97.
In addition to her extensive college athletics administrative experience at multiple institutions, Peterson is a former chair of the NCAA Volleyball and Women's Basketball committees and has also served on the NCAA Track and Field committee. She was the Senior Associate Commissioner—Sports Management and Championships at the Pac-12 Conference from 2022-24.
"I am excited for the opportunity to return to Eugene and work with Rob and the incredible student-athletes, coaches, and staff at Oregon," Peterson said. "Being back with the Ducks is being back home and provides the chance to play an integral role in helping the department navigate all the changes in the college athletics to assist our student-athletes in achieving excellence."
