Leach’s Low Round Leads Ducks Tuesday in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Greyson Leach carded the first under-par round for the Oregon men's golf team at the second round of the 78th Western Intercollegiate presented by Titleist on Tuesday, firing a 2-under 68 to lead the way for the Ducks.
Leach was the lone UO golfer in the red on the day at Pasatiempo Golf Club, using two birdies and an eagle on the front nine to rise up into the top-25 heading into Wednesday's final round.
Oregon sits in 10th place through 36 holes with a 15-over 715 team total, shooting a combined 357 on Tuesday. Pepperdine leads the field at 6 under.
How It Happened
Leach sat even through five after a birdie on No. 2 and a bogey on No. 3. He played his seven holes four-under par thanks to a pair of birdies and an eagle on No. 9, but bogeyed two of his final six holes to finish at 2-under. The senior will enter Wednesday's finale tied for 22nd place.
Jay Gould-Healy also enters Wednesday's round in 22nd place after firing a 1-over 71 on Tuesday. Gould-Healy carded a team high four birdies to go with five bogeys following his even-par round on Monday.
Jeffrey Kwak, Ramil Saelim and Eric Doyle all shot 2 over on the day. Kwak sat 2 under at the turn thanks to a pair of birdies but three bogeys and a double bogey set him back some. He will start the final round tied for 29th. Saelim carded three bogeys and a birdie to go with a team-high 15 pars. Doyle sat even at the turn after answering four bogeys with two birdies and an eagle of his own before making bogey twice on the back nine.
Aiden Krafft rounded out the counting scores with a 3-over 73, carding a pair of birdies.
