Award-winning artist Darius Rucker will perform at the University of Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 19 — the evening before the Ducks' football game against Oregon State. Tickets for the concert will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25, through Ticketmaster.com.
Rucker was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the GRAMMY-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish, who sold more than 25 million albums. Their debut album, Cracked Rear View, achieved Double Diamond status (22x Platinum) and ranks among the top 10 best-selling studio albums ever.
Since transitioning to country music in 2008, Rucker has released four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart and racked up 10 chart-topping singles on country radio. His catalog includes 11 Gold, Platinum, or multi-Platinum certified hits. In 2012, he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and in 2014, he earned a GRAMMY for Best Solo Country Performance with his Diamond-certified rendition of "Wagon Wheel," one of the top five best-selling country songs ever.
