Best of Oregon's Best Honored At O Show
05/29/25 | General
The athletic department held its annual awards show on Tuesday.
A year that included eight Big Ten championships for the Oregon athletic department saw every program involved in those eight titles honored at Tuesday's annual "O Show" awards night.
The football, cross country and track and field, women's golf, baseball and softball programs all were represented among the winners Tuesday, after those programs piled up Oregon's record haul of Big Ten titles — half by the cross country and track and field programs. The women's indoor track and field team that won an NCAA Championship was named best team at the O Show.
The O show honors accomplishments from May through April of each academic year. Mason Neville from baseball and Kiara Romero of women's golf were named best male and best female, respectively, in that time period.
Bryce Boettcher, a contributor in baseball last spring and football this past fall, won the Emerald Award as the athletic department's top senior male student-athlete based on athletics, service and scholarship. Paige Sinicki of the softball program won the corresponding Jackson Award as the top female senior student-athlete.
Sofia Bell from women's basketball received the Higdon Award as the athletic department's outstanding sophomore. Rylee McCoy from softball was named freshman of the year.
Nate Bittle from men's basketball was named comeback player of the year. He missed most of the 2023-24 season due to injury and illness but returned to help the Oregon men reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Hannah Seubert of cross country and track and field received the Witham O-Heroes Award after compiling 137 hours of community service for the year. Russell Soohoo of men's tennis received the Herb Yamanaka Oregon Pride Award.
Kim Terrell, who recently retired as senior associate director of athletic medicine for the department, received the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Staff Award, while senior instructor of physical education Dave Rubino received the SAAC Faculty Award.
