EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon's Sebastian Desoisa was named the Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week following his third-place finish at The Preserve Golf Club Collegiate, the league office announced Thursday.Â
Desoisa led the Ducks to their second team title of the fall, carding rounds of 67, 68 and 73 to finish third at 8-under 208. The performance marked his third consecutive top-10 finish in as many appearances this fall. He tied for the tournament lead in par-5 scoring average (4.25) and tied for third in the field with 16 birdies.Â
The Preseason Big Ten Golfer to Watch played a pivotal role in Oregon's comeback victory Tuesday in Carmel Valley, Calif., playing his final eight holes bogey-free with four birdies. His late surge helped the Ducks erase a six-stroke deficit over the final four holes, vaulting Oregon to the top of the leaderboard to secure its second tournament title of the fall.Â
Desoisa is the first Oregon golfer to earn Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week honors since Greyson Leach on March 13, 2025.Â
He is also the first Duck since the 2018-19 season to record three consecutive top-10 finishes and the first since Wyndham Clark and Norman Xiong in 2016-17 to accomplish the feat in his first three tournaments of a season.Â
