Krafft Leads Lineup After Day One at Duck Invite
03/23/26 | Men's Golf
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men's golf team enters Tuesday's final round in a three-way tie for fourth after a strong opening round at the 36th annual Duck Invitational at Eugene Country Club.
Senior Aiden Krafft is atop the lineup for Oregon after matching his low round of the season with a 5-under 66. The Ducks enter the final round in a tie for fourth and look to move into position to claim their second consecutive tournament title on their home course.
The Ducks are 10 strokes behind No. 9 ranked Illinois, who leads the field as the only team under par after Monday's rounds shooting 1-under 567 as a team.
How It Happened
Krafft was one of two Oregon players to finish in the red after the first round, and the only member of the lineup under par. The senior fired off a birdie on the opening hole, and added three more birdies including back-to-back holes under par on Nos. 7 and 8.
Krafft and played the first round without a blemish on his scorecard. The New Mexico native finished with four birdies and as many bogeys for an even second round, sitting at No. 2 on the leaderboard just one stroke behind Max Herenden of Illinois.
Casper Nerpin finished one over for the second round with three birdies and four bogeys. The senior leveled out in the afternoon, with a birdie on the 13th hole to cancel out his sole bogey on No. 8. Nerpin sits seven spots up in 14th place after two rounds of play.
Ramil Saelim, who placed third at last year's Duck Invitational, went even on the front nine with a birdie and a bogey. Three more birdies on the back stretch were not enough to overcome a handful of bogeys to finish two over for the first round and went 3-over in the second.
The freshman duo of Sebastian Desoisa and Oscar Lent were off to a slow start, each finishing 10-over on the day to round out the Oregon lineup.
Competing individually, Jeffrey Kwak finished in the top-10 after 36 holes thanks to a 2-under 69 opening score and seven total birdies carded between the two rounds.
Kyreece Romero improved upon his first-round mark with a 1-under and seven birdies in the second round. Teddy Vigna and Tim Chang each lowered their scores in the second round, but finished with high marks as individuals.
