Ducks Fall In Tourney Finale
Feb. 16, 2003
POWAY, Calif. - Oregon fell to host San Diego State, 1-0, in its final game of the 2003 Campbell/Cartier Classic Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Ducks fell to 9-4 on the young season while the Aztecs improved to 6-4.
The contest was a pitcher's dual as Aztec sophomore Bre DeSanta allowed just four hits and struck out five through seven innings of work. The Ducks' Amy Harris fanned three batters and gave up only three hits in her complete-game effort.
The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the seventh before SDSU's Janna Kovensky drove a 3-2 pitch over the left field fence to end the game and give SDSU its third consecutive victory.
