Kraayeveld Selected to Second Team Academic All-District Team

EUGENE, Ore. - University of Oregon junior forward Cathrine Kraayeveld has been picked to the Verizon Academic All-District Women's Basketball Second Team.
It is the first such honor of Kraayeveld's career. Kraayeveld, a Kirkland, Wash., native, holds a 3.24 cumulative grade-point average and majors in education. She is just one of two Pac-10 student-athletes on the first or second team. Washington senior Loree Payne made the first team. The district is comprised of the Pac-10, West Coast, Big Sky and Big West conferences.
In order to qualify for Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA, be a starter or important reserve and be in at least their second season of athletic and academic eligibility. The first team members will
Kraayeveld is averaging 15.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per game this year for the Ducks. She recently returned to action last Saturday against Oregon State after a 13-game hiatus because of a staph infection in her left knee.
