Ducks Ready to Rebound against Huskies

WHAT’S ON TAP . . . The Ducks last played in Eugene on Dec. 17, 2003, a 94-71 win against Santa Clara. Twenty-nine days and five games later, Oregon is finally set to return to McArthur Court to host Washington on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. in a battle of two teams looking to stop losing streaks. Fox Sports Net will televise the game live regionally on the West Coast. On Saturday, the Ducks will host surprising Washington State in a 5:15 p.m. game that will be shown live on the Oregon Sports Network.
QUICK HITS...A brief look at what to watch for this weekend:
Home Sweet Home. Oregon is 33-2 at Mac over the last three seasons.
Permanent Vacation? The 29-day break since Oregon’s last home game is the Ducks’ longest in seven years. In 1996-97, Oregon played Cleveland State at home on Dec. 14 and then did not appear again at Mac Court until Jan. 16 -- 33 days later.
Line of the Week. 39 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals (oh, and 14-of-14 at the free throw line). That was Luke Jackson’s remarkable game Jan. 10 at Oregon State. He set career-highs in scoring and rebounding, had the most points by an Oregon player in a decade and the most boards in seven years. Pac-10 player of the week honors? No. That went to Josh Childress -- the fourth time in six weeks this season that a Stanford player has been selected.
Senior All-America and Pac-10 Player of the Year candidate Luke Jackson became the exclusive member of his own club last Saturday against Oregon State; he’s now the only player in school history with 1,500 points (1,542), 600 rebounds (601) and 300 assists (325) in a career. Furthermore, he’s one of only four players in Pac-10 history to notch those career numbers.
