Women's Tennis To Start Pac-10 Play

Domination- The Ducks have not lost more than one singles match in a dual meet since the season opener against Sacramento State where Oregon lost two.
Top 5? - Reining Pac-10 Player of the Year, Daria Panova still holds the No. 8 ranking in the country, but look for her to move up the ranks, after posting an undefeated singles record (8-0) this spring.
Perfection- Five Ducks still hold perfect dual-match singles records. Ester Bak (5-0), Davina Mendiburu (6-0), Monica Hoz De Vila (2-0), Courtney Nagle (4-0), and Daria Panova (4-0).
No Respect- Despite winning their first six matches, the Ducks dropped from No. 41, to No. 42 in the new ITA Tennis poll
Last Week- The Ducks took care of Portland, Boise State, and Minnesota, running their record to 6-0. Oregon went 16-2 in singles matches and 7-2 in doubles during that span.
Coach Schyllander on Last Week- "Last weekend was very productive for us. I feel like our singles is really starting to click. Our depth proved to be very valuable as we played three matches and where able to rotate our lineups in order to stay fresh."
Coach Schyllander on the Coming Week- "In the Arizona schools we face two huge challenges as they are both among the premier programs in the country. Arizona State might be young but they are a very talented team with a really balanced lineup. Arizona, on the other hand, is a very experienced group that knows what it takes to win matches."
SCOUTING REPORT
#34 Arizona- The Wildcats are 2-1 on the year, defeating San Diego and Northern Arizona, while losing a close match to No. 35 Oklahoma. The team is led by No. 28 ranked Dianne Hollands and No. 29 Maja Mlakar. Hollands is currently 2-1 at the No. 1 position, while Mlakar is 1-2. The two players team to make the the No. 19 doubles pair in the country and are 3-0 on the season. Both players also received All-Pac-10 mention last year. The Wildcats face the New Mexico Lobos (Feb. 12) before traveling to Eugene.
#18 Arizona State- The Sun Devils are 2-0 on the season, defeating Indiana and Pacific. The Sun Devils top player is Joslyn Burkett (1-1). Burkett recorded 17 wins last season and is currently rated the No. 50 player in the country. Arizona State finished with an 11-11 overall record and 3-5 in Pac-10 play last season.
