Rated among the top 50 prep prospects in California by SuperPrep magazine as well as one of the best 11 defensive linemen in the state, the two-time all-Bay Valley League defender helped fuel a unit which proved to be the strength of last season’s program. The Pirates finished the year sporting a 10-2-1 record despite averaging only 156.2 yards per game total offense, with their only two setbacks occurring to national power De La Salle High School. Possessed the proficiency to force opponents to devise game plans to avoid him. The two-time all-area honoree (Contra Costa Times) and Tacoma News Tribune Western One-hundred pick led the league in quarterback sacks with five in addition to forcing one fumble and recovering another. Completed his prep career with 15 quarterback sacks. Was credited with forcing a safety in the school’s 63-6 verdict over Hurcules.
