The SuperPrep All-American was ranked among the top 60 defensive linemen in the country as well as the fourth-best prep prospect in Oregon (SuperPrep) for a program which finished his senior year with an 8-1 record. The two-time first-team all-state (The Oregonian) standout was credited with 90 tackles and two fumble recoveries for the 2003 Cowapa League champions after accumulating 125 takedowns (30 unassisted), 15 tackles for loss and 10 quarterback sacks as a junior. Named to the Tacoma News Tribune’s Western One-hundred list in addition to receiving honorable mention among the newspaper’s Northwest Nuggets elite. Possesses solid footwork and athleticism that enhanced his mobility along the defensive line for the Braves and should be a tremendous attribute for him at the next level. Doubles as a track & field standout as he finished second in last spring’s 3A state shot put championships before finishing the year ranked sixth in Oregon in the event (55-9) encompassing all classes. Boasting of personal bests of 310-lb. bench press and 435-lb. squat, his brother (Josh) plays football at Oregon State while his uncle (Scott) is a former offensive coordinator at the University of Washington.
