The SuperPrep All-American was ranked among the best 30 receivers in the country as well as the top 22 prep prospects in the state (SuperPrep) while assisting the Centaurs to a 9-2-1 record his senior season. The all-CIF Division X selection also elicited attention from the Long Beach Press-Telegram (Best in the West votes) as well as the Tacoma News Tribune (Western One-hundred). Utilized powerful hands to rank fourth in the Pioneer League in receptions, grabbing 22 catches for 488 yards (22.2 avg.) and four touchdowns in 2003. Included were five passes for 35 yards vs. St. Bernard and two receptions for 105 yards against South Torrance. Also converted 12 carries into 211 yards on the ground and five more scores. Contributed 34 tackles on defense, including a team-high seven quarterback sacks. Played tight end as a junior for a team which averaged only 83.8 yards per game passing, yet still managed to latch unto 18 catches for 229 yards and one TD. Doubles as a track & field standout, with the Pioneer League 100 (10.65) and 200-meter champion placing third in last year’s CIF meet 100 in addition to running on the CIF’s second-place 400-meter relay.
