T.R. Smith Running Back 5-10 180 Portland, Ore. Jefferson High School |
The SuperPrep All-American was rated as Oregon’s third-best prep prospect as well as a Tacoma News Tribune Western One-hundred pick based in part on his tremendous potential and proficiency displayed as a high school junior. An ankle injury rendered his senior season disappointing compared to the exuberance that 2002 promised to deliver for the future. The high school quarterback tallied only 354 yards of total offense in limited action in 2003 after accumulating 1,711 yards for the Democrats the previous season as the Portland Interscholastic League’s most dangerous weapon. The 2002 first-team all-league choice was clocked in 4.45 seconds over 40 yards at last summer’s Nike Camp in Eugene in addition to bench pressing 19 reps of 185 lbs. and measured for a 35-inch vertical jump.
