Decathlete Trio Score First Day PRs in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Oregon men’s decathlon corps opened spring break action for the Ducks in the Mike A. Maynard Multi-Events Competition at the University of Arizona's Roy Drachman Stadium.
All three of the Duck decathletes scored first-day personal best scores - redshirt sophomore Ryan Voge (fourth, 3,863), redshirt senior Gabriel LeMay (seventh, 3,774) and redshirt sophomore Andy Young (ninth, 3,510). Voge posted first day marks of 11.27 in the 100, 23-4 3/4 in the long jump (7.13m), 39-10 3/4 in the shot put (12.16m), 6-6 in the high jump (1.98m) and 49.96 in the 400. LeMay ended with marks of 11.08 in the 100, 21-2 in the long jump (6.45m), 39-5 3/4 in the shot put (12.03m), 6-4 3/4 in the high jump (1.95m) and 48.63 in the 400. His long jump was a two-inch personal best, his high jump was a 2 3/4-inch personal best and his 400 clocking was a 1.41-second personal best. Young ended with marks of 11.70 in the 100, 22-0 1/4 in the long jump (6.71m), 34-8 1/4 in the shot put (10.57m), 6-3 1/2 in the high jump (1.92m) and 50.27 in the 400. His long jump mark was a personal best by 3 1/2 inches, his high jump was a 2 1/4-inch personal best, and his 400 was a .01-second personal best. Overall among the individual event marks, LeMay ran the fastest 400 of the field, while Voge tied for second-best in the high jump.
