Mizusawa, Ganes Make Pac-10 All-Academic Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ? University of Oregon women’s basketball student-athletes Corrie Mizusawa and Carolyn Ganes received Pac-10 Conference All-Academic honors Wednesday.
Mizusawa, a junior from Lafayette, Calif., earned first-team honors. She holds a 3.78 grade-point average in education. Meanwhile, Ganes, a sophomore from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, notched her second consecutive honorable-mention selection. She is an exercise and movement science major.
Mizusawa, the conference’s assists leader with 180, is the 10th Oregon women’s basketball player to make the first team and first since Natasha O’Brien in 1999.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.
