Freshman Kayleen Hudson Named Pac-10 Softball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ? Oregon freshman right fielder Kayleen Hudson has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Softball Player of the Week, for March 23-29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Hudson, from Northglenn, Colo., led Oregon to a 4-1 mark last week, including a victory over No. 16 Oregon State in the Pac-10 opener for both schools. In a two-game sweep of Kansas on Mar. 23 and Mar. 24, Hudson was 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run. Later in the week against the Beavers, Hudson was 1-for-3 as the Ducks took the Conference opener from the Beavers in a late-inning come from behind victory. To close the week, Hudson was 3-for-6 in the double-header against Utah State on Mar. 27, driving in two runs, and scoring another two. She hit her second home run of the week in the first game against the Aggies. For the week, Hudson scored three runs, drove in four and was 6-for-13 (.462) with two home runs and a .923 slugging percentage.
Hudson is currently leading the team with a .377 batting average, is second with six home runs and third with 19 RBI.
