Men's Tennis Host Arizona Schools

WHAT’S UP
Pac-10- The Pac-10 once again looks to be the strongest conference in the country, with five teams in the top 25...three of which are in the top 10.
Vast Improvement- With five dual matches remaining, the Ducks have already equaled last year’s eight-win output.
Moving Up the Charts- With five matches remaining, junior Sven Swinnen is one win away from moving onto the top 10 all-time single season wins list.
Top of the Lineup Strength- The top three positions for Oregon are 28-14 in singles dual play.
No. 2 Doubles on Fire- The No. 2 doubles teams for the Ducks are an amazing 13-1 in dual play.
LAST WEEK
Portland- The Ducks disposed of the Pilots, 6-1, in a non-conference dual match. Oregon swept all three doubles matches then won five of six singles. Sven Swinnen and Arron Spencer won their team-leading 11th doubles dual match.
#34 Cal- The Bears took care of the Ducks, 5-2, in the conference opener for both squads. Cal swept all three doubles matches, then won four of six singles. No. 38-ranked Sven Swinnen won his 17th overall match of the season, while Markus Schiller picked up his 10th.
#9 Stanford- The Cardinal defeated the Ducks, 6-1. Manuel Kost and Markus Schiller teamed together for the first time all season, picking up a doubles victory. Kost was the only Duck to record a singles victory, defeating 2002 All-American, K.C. Corkery.
Coach Russell on This Week- “We traditionally play well against the both Arizona and Arizona State in Eugene. These are important matches that we need to win in order to grab an NCAA birth.”
THIS WEEK'S SCOUTING REPORT
#21 Arizona- The Wildcats are 11-6 on the season. All six of Arizona’s losses have come at the hands of top 10 teams. Roger Matalonga is ranked the No. 64 player in the country, with a 16-5 overall record and 14-3 dual record. Colin O’Grady and Matalonga are 13-2 in dual doubles. Arizona defeated Oregon, 6-1, last season.
#37 Arizona State- The Sun Devils are 7-8 on the season, with an impressive win against No. 5 UCLA. Christopher Biro is 9-6 in duals at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions. Clinton Letcher and Daniel Davies have a team-leading five doubles wins. ASU defeated Oregon, 5-2, last season.
