Jackson Earns All-America Honors from ESPN

Luke Jackson was named to ESPN's All-America first team Friday. He is bidding to become Oregon's first consensus All-American since Greg Ballard in 1977. Jackson was joined on the first team by player of the year Jameer Nelson of Saint Joseph's, Ryan Gomes of Providence, Ryan Hodge of North Carolina State and Emeka Okofor of Connecticut.
ESPN's Andy Katz, who selected the team, said. "Jackson was the best player in the Pac-10, but on an average team. Jackson's numbers were absolutely sensational across the board. He took on the burden of trying to get Oregon atop the Pac-10 and into the NCAA Tournament with his unbelievable passion to play every possession. Jackson has earned himself plenty of money because he will be a first-round pick, a possible late lottery selection. Jackson's work ethic, his uncanny ability to get to the basket, and his leadership got even better without Luke Ridnour. Jackson should be commended for returning to school for his senior season and making the most of every play."
