Hoz de Vila to Represent Bolivia at 2004 Fed Cup

EUGENE, Ore. ? University of Oregon women’s tennis player Monica Hoz de Vila has been selected to participate in the 2004 Fed Cup in Campinas, Brazil, April 23-26. The La Paz, Boliva native, will represent the Bolivian National Team.
The Fed Cup (www.fedcup.com) is the female version of the men’s Davis Cup. Bolivia will participate in the Americas Zone Group II against Chile, Jamaica, Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago, with the winner advancing to the Americas Zone Group I.
"It is a great honor for Monica to represent the Oregon program and even bigger honor for her to represent her country," Oregon head coach Nils Schyllander said. "This will help her development as a tennis player and give her a chance to play quality competition."
Hoz de Vila is currently 11-6 overall and 4-1 in duals. She also is 5-1 as a doubles player.
The Ducks (14-8, 2-6) close out the regular season this weekend when they travel to California to take on Long Beach State (Fri., April 16, 1 p.m.) and Pepperdine (Sat., April 17, Noon).
